Language and Literacy

This lesson was designed in relation to a storybook, 'The Rabbit Listened' for children aged 5-6. The objectives were for children to recognise and spell the pictures on the template, and to arrange the letters to spell the words correctly. This resource is developmentally appropriate as 5-6 year olds are able to identify words through prints.

A set of cards I designed for children to play 'Snap!', where they have to match the number of animals with their friends' cards. This relates to the concept of the 'Part-Part-Whole' concept, with number bonds from 5-10.

Working with the Exceptional Child

I created this set of cards for a differentiated game of Alphabet Bingo, where children can see the alphabets and their corresponding items. According to the Principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), I applied representation, as I ensured to provide information in a variety of formats, allowing the children to acquire knowledge.

Effective Learning Environment for Young Children

This is a classroom floor plan I designed, where I had to carefully plan each specific corner, to ensure for a smooth flow and pathway throughout. From this, I learnt this skill of planning a classroom layout, and I believe that I will be able to put this to good use when I teach my own class in the future.

This is a set of learning resources I created for children to identify the three-letter CVC words and match the corresponding letters in the words. It is colour-coded as well, making it easier for children to identify the letters to be put in each spot.

Virtual Field Trip

This is an activity booklet which I designed for children to have and use during the virtual field trip to the Toy Museum. It included a pre-trip, on-site and post-trip activity. Children had to spot the toys, colour in toys, and draw and describe what they saw.

I created this life-sized board for children, modeled after Snakes and Ladders, where they had to hop, count the number of spaces they could move, and wait for their friends as they took turns.

This is a visual diary of the items I designed for my internship centre, for their Term 2 Dramatic Corner, which was a supermarket. I ensured to cater to the different age groups, making it simple enough for the N2s and a little bit harder for the K1s.
