As I pursued this Diploma in Early Childhood Development & Education (ECDE), it has allowed me to deepen my understanding and knowledge on children, learning about their different developmental needs and how to effectively support them through purposeful activities and lessons.

The 2 practicum attachments and 6-months internship also allowed me to apply what I have learnt during the different modules over the span of my polytechnic school life. These experiences helped me to be a better educator as I learnt to reflect, and most importantly, learning how to adapt and cater to the different needs of the children.

  • Was in the EXCO as the treasurer/vice president from 2017-2019

    • ​During my role as the treasurer/vice president, I collaborated with the rest of the committee members, and planned sessions during CCA time for our members to learn more about photography and videography, and develop their skills as well.

  • Student Leaders’ (SL) Camp | Nov 2017

    • Selected to participate in the camp as the only Secondary 2 student from my CCA

  • Art Elective Programme (AEP) Regional Educational Trip to Malacca | July 2016 

    • Selected to go for the trip to visit a local artist in Malacca, who invited us to his house for 3 days to complete an art project with him and his partner.

I joined the IJ Choir in Primary 3, when I first entered CHIJ Primary, as I had transferred from my previous school. This was a CCA which was not available in my previous school, and because I had a passion for singing and performing, I signed up to audition and eventually got in.

Throughout my 4 years in IJ Choir, I had to opportunity to participate in 1 SYF Showcase, where we won Distinction, and the opportunity to go to Malacca with other IJ Choirs to perform and compete with each other. This was my favourite memory of primary school, as I was able to do what I really loved, and to do what I was passionate about.

Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Primary School

  • Enrolled in KCPPS from P1-P2, before transferring to CHIJ Primary (Toa Payoh)
